Lots of new recipes this month, plus a revisited recipe that I haven’t made in several years. We ate well! Even if the photo leaves something to be desired.

New Recipes

Sheet pan fall chicken thighs – I’ll have to make these again soon, because I do love bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs and this was super easy. We had it with sourdough, as usual.

Apple butter pork chops – This one necessitated making apple butter for the first time, which was rather fun as it made a lot more apple butter than anticipated and I ended up with a few more new recipes to try after as a result. These were delicious: they reminded me of some of the pork chops my husband likes to get at nicer restaurants, piled with deliciously seasoned vegetables.

Marry Me gnocchi chicken soup – My youngest’s request. We’re making it again this very week. I don’t tend to make a lot of cream-based soups, so it was a little odd to eat but still tasty.

Apple butter pull apart bread – An effort in using up apple butter. It was fine. Not too hard to make, but I don’t know if I’d make it again as-is.

Revisited Recipes

Red wine braised short ribs – It’s been years since I made this and I’m not entirely sure why I ever stopped. The recipe calls for straining the vegetables out, but the vegetables just tasted like the delicious broth so I’m not sure why I’d do that – and I didn’t.
