As promised, I focused on new recipes this month! This manifested as three different SkinnyTaste recipes (SkinnyTaste, I can’t quit you, even though some of your recipes are flops) and a brioche bun recipe that I’ve been wanting to try for an entire year.
New Recipes
Chicken shawarma sheet pan – This was shockingly easy and turned out very well, and was a hit with the entire family. I doubled the recipe and thought it might need more time to cook than prescribed, but the chicken was at temperature after 35 minutes.
30 cloves garlic chicken – This was also a huge hit! A simple recipe that tasted somewhat evocative of the Ligurian rabbit/chicken recipe I’ve posted here a few times, it went great with sourdough.
Hawaiian chicken meatballs with pineapple – I am not the target audience for the recipe, because I don’t really like sweet and savory combinations. So I will say that while I did not enjoy this at all, the rest of my family did. It was very sweet.
Orange cranberry cheesecake brioche buns – Sift with Kima’s brioche buns are essentially impossible to mess up. I’ve made her pumpkin cheesecake brioche buns before, and these were similarly easy. They disappeared in two days.
Revisited Recipes
Pad kee mao – While the calorie information for the recipe is very clearly incorrect, the rest of the recipe is solid and it had been a few years since we brought it back out. It also makes great meal prep, though it’s not the most filling recipe.
