As I write this from my European vacation (what a pretentious way to start a post), I’ll note that I don’t usually pay too much attention to the market when I’m traveling. However, two days ago I remembered to open Monarch and refresh our retirement account balances, and discovered that I was quite close to a fun and stupid milestone – $420k in my 401k.
(I missed actually seeing $401k in my 401k, much to my dismay)
So when I woke up this morning, Italy time, and saw that the market had a very slightly good day the previous day, I made sure to go refresh that balance again. Sure enough – $420,142.69 in my 401k. Since weed is only somewhat legal in Italy, despite the weed vending machines I found in Bologna, I will be waiting until I return to the US to celebrate appropriately. 😎
You gotta keep the boring middle a little exciting.
